THE FACTS
I’ll start with just the facts….
Uptown Grocery Co. is beautiful! Yes, I am aware that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and statement of such would therefore be an opinion, but it’s also true…the place is gorgeous! So we’re counting this as fact.
Uptown Grocery Co. boasts the same owners as Buy For Less but it is NOT Buy For Less.
They offer lots of choices for gluten-free, natural and organic diets, as well as specialty foods and products.
Their produce and bakery departments are extensive and full of quality selections.
Overall, their prices are a cross between Homeland and Walmart but not quite as low as Crest Foods.
MY OPINION
I entered Uptown Grocery Co. expecting to be wowed beyond belief. My expectations died by the second aisle. Not only did I find the prices to be competitive with Homeland (sigh) but there didn’t seem to be many grand opening deals (bigger sigh).
This die hard frugalista left Uptown Grocery Co. with raspberries ($0.99), blueberries ($0.99) and eggs ($1.48 18ct).
Unless their weekly ads bring it up a notch, I don’t see myself shopping here on a regular basis. Not when I can double coupons at Homeland. Does this mean Uptown Grocery Co. isn’t an asset to this community? Not at all…
If you have a special diet, you’ve chosen to eat organic, you’re an aspiring culinary, or you have few limits on your grocery budget then Uptown Grocery Co. has alot to offer.
Regardless, you should stop by and see for yourself. To each her own…and most of my friends think they’ve died and gone to heaven. I am definitely a minority.
Have you already stopped by Uptown Grocery? What did you think? Find any good deals?

We were just talking about this at work and wondering about it, thanks for the report!
I stopped by yesterday and picked up my text reward bag full of goodies, but didn’t stay to shop. I pictured elbow to elbow people like Sunflower Market. I will have to go back to get some berries! I didn’t see any new deals at Crest, but 12ct eggs were .98 at Crest Wednesday night!
Went to Aldi this afternoon and eggs are .96 there along with cheap grapes and avocados!
