Project 66 is a non-profit, faith-based ministry providing food & clothing to families in need in Edmond, Arcadia and surrounding communities.
They are located on Highway 66 in Arcadia, just 5 miles east of I-35. The building is located between Pops and the Round Barn on the south side of the highway.
What started as the brain child of Melody Wilson has turned into a full-fledged ministry that God is blessing left and right. Since Project 66 opened its doors in August 2010, over 500 people have been helped. And many are coming out of the woodwork to volunteer their time or give donations to help keep Project 66 going.
The mission of Project 66 is to feed the local population that would normally go undernourished, like kids, the elderly and working families who are facing unusually difficult economic times. Their goal is to provide each family with enough basic food for at least one week. They also provide seasonal clothing and shoes.
The Project 66 Food Pantry is the only Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma-sponsored food pantry in the Edmond area.
Their distribution hours are every Thursday from 10am – 12pm and again from 6pm – 8pm. No one is turned away and each family can receive help once a month.
If you or someone you know needs food or clothing, they can visit Project 66 during these hours. No appointment is necessary. For more information, call (405) 396-3335. You can also visit Project 66 on Facebook!
You Can Make A Difference
Funds & Donations
Every dollar Project 66 receives goes straight into action to help the lives of those less fortunate. They frugally use the gifts God has blessed them with to purchase foods from the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and to pay for their facility and utilities. Project 66 also accepts donations of clothing, food, personal care and household cleaning products.
Tax Deductible Donation
You can send donations to Project 66, PO Box 67, Arcadia, OK 73007. Please be sure to include your mailing address for your tax deductible receipt.
You may drop off items to be donated on Thursdays between 10am – 12pm or 6pm – 8pm. If the front parking lot is full, you may pull around back and drop off at the back entrance. They always need donations of canned veggies, fruit, meat, cereal and toiletries.
Each person involved in this ministry is a volunteer and graciously donates their time to make Project 66 operate each week. The following volunteer opportunites are available:
- Personal Shopper
- Food Management
- Refurbishing Associate
