Kate Barnard Community Correctional Center

The 50+ group at Faith Bible Church is working with Genesis 1, a non-denominational, Christian organization dedicated to equipping the female inmates who reside at the Kate Barnard Community Corrections Center for a successful reentry into society.

Many female inmates arrive at the Center with no personal care items. If they are also indigent, they have no means to purchase these items.  The inmates that work at the Center only clear about $4-$5 per month.

The 50+ group received permission from the  Chief of Security at KBCCC to donate some of the items to the inmates. They have invited Simple Saving Savvy readers to help.

If this is something you would be interested in doing, you may drop your donations by the Faith Bible Church office, Monday – Friday OR contact me and I will arrange to pick them up from you. Right now I am only picking up once a month. In the future, we may have an Oklahoma City drop off location.

Here is the approved list of needed items. Please stick to items on the list as any other items may not be accepted when delivered.

APPROVED PERSONAL CARE ITEMS

  • toothpaste and toothbrush
  • dental floss
  • denture cleaner and fixative
  • shampoo and conditioner
  • hair spray and hair gel
  • bath soap (bar or body wash)
  • lotion
  • moisturizer
  • deodorant
  • emery boards
  • mouth wash (non-alcohol only)
  • razors (disposable only)
  • Q-tips
  • feminine hygiene products
  • envelopes and writing paper

Items are to be un-opened due to security at the facility. They have asked that we do not donate large quanties (i.e. case lots, bulk quantities, etc.).

Thank you in advance for your interest in supporting this project.  The women at KBCCC are very appreciative and grateful for every little thing.
